Winding your skein(s):
Due to the linen and silk content of this yarn, these fibres can be a bit trickier to wind than wool yarns.
We recommend watching Felicia Lo’s How to Wind a Ball of Yarn tutorial before winding. In the video, Felicia shows how to "snap" the hank before placing it on a swift, ensuring to maintain even tension and steady winding to help prevent tangles. Choose an end and gently pull out a few rounds to make sure everything is moving smoothly before you start cranking the yarn onto a ball winder. If the end you’re pulling becomes stuck, you can try turning the hank so the inner loop becomes the outer loop (so the side against the swift faces outward) and try again, or switch to the opposite end to see if it pulls more smoothly. Charlotte Lee also demonstrates winding tips in the Make a Centre-Pull Ball with Slippery Yarn tutorial.
Taking the time to prep your skein gently can help prevent tangles and set you up for a smooth wind, resulting in a beautiful yarn ready to create with!
