Products & Colourways

Variation in Dye Lots

When more than one skein of the same colourway is ordered, we will ensure to ship you the same dye lot. We dye in batches of 8’s (with some colourways only available in batches of 4), so if more than 8 (or 4) skeins are ordered, we will need to ship you two different dye lots that will be very close to each other. Variations will naturally exist, even within the same dye lot, for hand-dyed yarns. Please alternate between 2 to 3 skeins for optimal colour blending.

Pre-washing & Swatching

We encourage you to swatch first with your yarns and wash your swatches to see how the colours will react before working on colourwork or big projects. Depending on the shade and intensity of the darker colour, we recommend that you pre-wash the skeins before using… just like you would separate your brand new dark blue jeans from your whites. Turquoise-based or magenta-based colourways are the most challenging to exhaust. It’s a good idea to also use "Color Catchers" in the wash to help absorb possible excess dye so that it doesn’t deposit anywhere else

Shipping, Returns & Exchanges

Shipping to Canadian Addresses

For Canadian Orders, we ship within Canada throughout the weekdays when stock becomes available. Orders typically takes 4-5 business days to arrive after it is processed, delivery times vary based on your location. If you are in a rush for your order, please contact us to confirm your ETA.

Shipping to US & International Addresses

For US & International Orders, we ship once a week, either Wednesday or Friday depending on how many orders we have.

We try to group shipments in order to keep the shipping costs low. During promotions (i.e. Knit-alongs, Black Friday and Christmas) we will ship two to three times a week to ensure you will get your order in time.

US orders typically take 3-5 business days to arrive after it is processed, delivery times vary based on your location.

International orders shipped via International Air (no tracking) will vary depending on the destination country, but typically take anywhere between 2-4 weeks for arrival. Parcels shipped via First-Class International (with tracking) take on average 10-14 business days.

Free Shipping

For all orders within Canada and the US, free shipping is available on yarn and fibre orders greater than $150 CAD / $120 USD (after discounts). For Canadian addresses, this also includes all Ashford products included in orders over $150 CAD / $120 USD (after discounts).

Note that free shipping is not valid on orders including any equipment (excluding Ashford products for Canadian addresses, as listed above) and/or SweetGeorgia Gift Cards. For these items, please place them on a separate order.

Refund Policy

To be eligible for return/exchange, items must be unused, in the original packaging, and in the same condition you received them. Please email us to obtain a Return Authorization (RA) number. Any merchandise returned without a proper authorization number will be refused.

You are responsible for the shipping costs associated with your return, as well as any clearance fees, customs and/or duty charged upon receipt of your parcel. To avoid any additional fees, we recommend shipping your parcel via Canada Post or USPS and declare the items as “returned goods”.

Please allow adequate time for us to receive your package; we recommend that you use a trackable shipping method. Upon receipt and inspection of your returns, we will process the refund. Depending on your method of payment, it may take a couple of business days for you to see the refund in your account.

Please do not ship items to our Blaine location as we will incur extra fees, and it will take much longer to get back to us. If you do ship to our Blaine location, we will process your refund less $10 to cover the additional fees.
