Sunday Morning Waffle Towels

The Sunday Morning Waffle Towels pattern was designed to play with stripes, textures, and colour all on one warp. Experiment with different colours and yarns to see what you can create! Yarn
- Warp and Weft: 6 cones Maurice Brassard 8/2 Cotton (1680 yd / 1530 m per 8 oz / 227 g; 3360 ypp / 6740 mpkg; 100% unmercerized cotton), one cone each in: 100 Naturel (A), 5067 Periwinkle (B), 5213 Cayenne (C), 8265 Orange Brûlé (D), 5169 Fuchsia (E), 1507 Lilas (F)
Equipment & Tools
- Loom: 4-shaft loom with a minimum 16" / 40 cm weaving width
- Tools: 12-dent reed (sleyed 2 threads per dent), boat shuttle with 6 bobbins
Structure
- Weave Structure: waffle weave
- Warp Length:: 5 ½ yd / 5 m (this includes 30" / 76 cm of loom waste, which is used for 8" / 20 cm sampling, and 10" / 25 cm for take-up)
- Warp Ends: 360 ends, includes 2 floating selvedges
- Warp Sett: 24 epi / 9.4 epcm
- Weft Sett: 24 epi / 9.4 epcm
- Width in Reed: 20 ¼" / 51.5 cm
- Woven Length: weave 25" / 63.5 cm for each towel = 150" / 381 cm total length — 6 towels total
Finished Measurements
- Width: Baby Waffle: 11" / 27.9 cm wide. Big Waffle: 10 ½" / 26.7 cm wide; approx. 29 to 30% reduction in width
- Length: each towel measures 20 ⅝" / 52.4 cm after wet finishing; approx. 17 to 18% reduction in length
