A Textured Shrug // Design by Katya Bevinamara
Unusual shape makes this a special piece to make and to wear. The combination of knits and purls create a texture that imitates weaving, a sumptuous delight. Warm, cozy, and utterly unique, this shrug is a must for every fall wardrobe.
- yarn: 5 (6, 6, 7, 8) skeins SweetGeorgia Mohair Silk DK in Strawberry Tea (218 yd / 200 m per 3.5 oz / 100 g skein; 90% easy-care merino, 5% super kid mohair, 5% silk)

needles: Size US 6 US / 4.0 mm needles in various lengths 16" / 40 cm, 24" / 60 cm, 26" / 90 cm and 48" / 120 cm long (to accommodate increase in stitch counts)
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain correct gauge -
gauge: 21 sts and 30 rows = 4" / 10 cm in St st, after blocking
For accurate sizing, always take time to check finished gauge -
finished measurements:
34 (36, 38, 40, 42)“ / 86.5 (91.5, 96.5, 101.5, 106.5) cm bust circumference
23 ½ (24, 24 ¾, 25 ¼, 25 ½)” / 59.5 (61, 63, 64, 65) cm back neck to hem (laid flat), including trim. When worn, shrug will stretch to about 25% longer under own weight.
Intended to be worn with large positive ease for an oversized “cocoon” look.
