Schacht Warping Boards & Mills

Warping boards are the most commonly used measuring devices. Schacht warping boards are available in two sizes: the 14 yard warping board measures 36" across and the 4-1/2 yard warping board measures 18" across. To withstand the strain of threads under tension, they tenon the hardwood dowels and press them securely into the frame.

Warping mills are faster and less tiring for long warps: they move so you don't have to go back and forth with your arms. The horizontal warping mill has a two-yard circumference and will hold up to 18 yards of warp. It can be folded up for storage and may be used on a table or the floor.
