Soft contrast for delicate colourwork, this hat and mitten set is both elegant and ethereal. Knitters will love the simple stranded colour pattern, worked quickly in a DK-weight yarn, and delight in the final project that is a dream for year-round wear.

  • yarn: 3 skeins SweetGeorgia Mohair Silk DK, 2 in Trinket (MC) and 1 in Slate (CC) (218 yd / 200 m per 3.5 oz / 100 g skein; 90% easy-care merino, 5% super kid mohair, 5% silk)
  • needles: Size 6 US / 4 mm needles
    Size 7 US / 4.5 mm needles
    Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
  • gauge: 20 sts and 22 rnds = 4" / 10 cm in Dittany Colour pattern using larger needles, after blocking
    For accurate sizing, always take time to check finished gauge.
  • finished measurements: Hat:
    Circumference above ribbing: 20” / 51 cm
    Length to tip of crown: 9 ½“ / 24 cm
    Mittens:
    Circumference of hand above thumb: 8” / 20.5 cm
