A Machine Knitting Basic Socks // Design by Barb Barone
These basic socks are designed to be machine knit flat with fingering-weight sock yarn on the LK 150 knitting machine. Once you see how simple it is to knit socks on your flatbed knitting machine, you will be making a pair for everyone you know!

Yarn
- 1 skein SweetGeorgia Tough Love Sock in Snowfall (C2) (425 yd / 388m per 4 oz / 115 g skein; 80% Easy-Care Merino, 20% Nylon)
- 3 mini-skeins SweetGeorgia Tough Love Sock one each in Dark Orchid (C1), Lavender (C2), and Summer Sky (C4)(105 yd / 96 m mini skeins; 80% Easy-Care Merino, 20% Nylon)
Machine Settings & Tools
- Machine: Silver Reed LK 150 Stitch Setting 1.5, Tension 3
- Tools: (2) 12" / 30 cm ravel cords (or DMC cotton), (2) Size 0 US / 2.0 mm circular knitting needle, 24" / 60 cm long
Gauge
- 28.5 sts and 38 rows = 4" / 10 cm in stockinette stitch with yarn held single, after blocking, measured along one edge
Please note that changes in gauge will affect yardage used and final measurements
Finished Measurements
- Sizes: 1 (2, 3, 4, 5)
- Foot Circumference: 4 (6, 7 ¼, 8, 9)" / 10.2 (15.2, 18.4, 20.3, 22.9) cm

Foot Length: 4 ½ ( 7 ½, 7 ½, 8 ½, 10)" / 11.4 (19.1, 19.1, 21.6, 25.4) cm
Shown in size 3 with 1 ¾" / 4.4 cm of negative ease. Choose a size with a foot circumference 15-20% smaller than actual foot circumference.
