Welted Cowl

Welted Cowl // a light cowl by Jane Richmond

This very simple cowl features horizontal welts by alternating stockinette and reverse stockinette stitch. The lace weight SweetGeorgia Silk Mist yarn creates a weightless accessory with the appearance of great volume.

• yarn: 1 skein SweetGeorgia Silk Mist (325 yd / 297 m per 0.88 oz / 25 g skein; 60% fine kid mohair, 40% cultivated silk) in Cassis
• needles: Size 6 US / 5.5 mm circular needles, 24" / 60 cm long
  Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain correct gauge
• gauge: 18 sts and 36 rows = 4" / 10 cm in stockinette stitch, un-stretched, after blocking
  Note that gauge is not crucial, but will affect required yardage and finished size
• finished measurements: 17 ½" / 44.5 cm long, 25" / 63.5 cm circumference
