O'Deery Me // a top-down colourwork pullover designed by Caitlin Shepherd

The flattering and timeless look of a yoked sweater recalls brisk winter days outdoors and warm winter evenings inside. Knit top-down and in-the-round, O'Deery Me is an excellent introduction to yoked sweater knitting as well as stranded colourwork.

Yarn:
  • 7 (7, 8, 9, 9, 10) [11, 11, 13, 13] (14, 15, 15, 16) skeins SweetGeorgia BFL+Silk DK: 5 (5, 6, 7, 7, 8) [ 9, 9, 10, 10] (11, 12, 12, 13) in Birch (MC), 1 (1, 1, 1, 1, 1) [1, 1, 2, 2] ( 2, 2, 2, 2) in Olive Branch (CC1) and 1 skein (all sizes) in Vintage (CC2) (247 yd / 226 m per 3.5 oz / 100 g skein; 75% Bluefaced Leicester Wool, 25% Silk).
Needles:
  • Size 4 US and 5 US / 3.5 mm and 3.75 mm circular needles, 32" / 80 cm long, for body and colourwork
  • Size 4 US and 5 US / 3.5 mm and 3.75 mm sets of double-pointed needles (or small circumference circular needles), for sleeves and stockinette body.
  • Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Gauge:
  • 25 sts and 32 rows = 4" / 10 cm in single-colour stockinette stitch, using smaller needles, after blocking.
  • 25 sts and 32 rows = 4" / 10 cm in Colourwork patt stitch, using larger needles, after blocking.
  • For accurate sizing, always take time to check finished gauge.

  • Shown in size 40 ¼" / 101 cm with 5 ¼" / 13 cm of positive ease in female model, with 4 ¼"/ 10.5 cm of positive ease in male model. Intended to be worn with 4-6" / 10-15 cm of positive ease.
