Baker Street Scarf

A Delightfully Cozy Waffle Weave Scarf // Design by Felicia Lo

The Baker Street Scarf pattern is squishy, textured, and has incredible colour-depth that can be adapted to a variety of wool knitting and weaving yarns. The handwoven fabric features deep waffle cells with stable warp and weft floats. An excellent canvas for playing with colour in the warp and the weft, we've also created some colour options to choose from with our Baker Street Scarf Yarn Sets.

Yarn

• Warp: 2 skeins SweetGeorgia Trifecta Fine, 1 each in Odyssey and Atlantis (370 yd / 338 m per 3.5 oz / 100 g skein; 75% bluefaced leicester, 15% mohair, 10% silk)
• Weft: 1 skein SweetGeorgia Trifecta Fine in Luna (370 yd / 338 m per 3.5 oz / 100 g skein; 75% bluefaced leicester, 15% mohair, 10% silk)

Equipment & Tools

• Loom : 8-shaft loom with a minimum 12" / 30 cm weaving width
• Tools: 8-dent reed (sleyed 2 threads per dent), boat shuttle with 1 bobbin

Structure

• Weave Structure: waffle weave
• Warp Length: 3 ½ yd / 3.2 m (this includes 55" / 139.7 cm of loom waste, sampling, fringe, and take-up)
• Warp Ends: 192 ends, includes 2 floating selvedges
• Warp Sett: 16 epi / 6.3 epcm
• Weft Sett: 16 epi / 6.3 epcm
• Width in Reed: 12" / 30 cm
• Woven Length: weave  71 ¼" / 181 cm

Finished Measurements

• Width: 7 1/4″ / 18.4 cm after wet finishing; approx. 29% reduction in width
• Length: 64 1/2″ / 163.8 cm after wet finishing; approx. 9% reduction in length
