Popular because they are portable, easy to use and so versatile, the Ashford table looms are in demand with both beginner and experienced weavers.

The 8-shaft looms fold flat, even with your weaving in place, making them ideal for taking to workshops or guild meetings. The overhead beater, with automatic bounce back, gives a wonderful shed and even beating. Levers are within easy reach for comfortable weaving. Each shaft can be lifted simply and quickly and is independent enabling a wide variety of patterns to be woven. The solid Silver Beech hardwood is lacquered for long-lasting good looks. Non-slip rubber feet give extra stability. Swedish stainless steel reed and lightweight Texsolv heddles are included. Plus there is a wide range of options and accessories available.

      Great loom!

      The Ashford 8 shaft table loom is well made, all moving parts work smoothly and quietly. Weaving was even and enjoyable on my first project on it. Construction of the loom took several hours, and I used a youtube video to help (thanks to the Adelaide weaving shop that showed the process step by step, at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6Mf-s3h9-M). A couple of changes I will make to what came in the box: 1) the string provided for attaching the warp seems flimsy. I have purchased stronger cotton and nylon string/twine to try as possible substitutes. 2) the back warp stick needs reinforcing with a steel rod/dowel, to weave as far as possible, as it was bending during the last foot or so of weaving (so, either leave more waste yarn at the end, or attach a metal dowel to the warp stick). 3) buy more heddles (it comes with 60 per shaft). Many patterns need 80 or more on at least some shafts and it is easier to have more than to move them around. Other than that, I am very happy with the loom.
